Best Players in PES 2020

Best Players in PES 2020

One of the most exciting parts of a new instalment of the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise is guessing who will make it onto the list of the best players in the game. The latest version of the popular video game is now upon us and gamers are busy getting stuck into a new master league save. We’ve checked out all the latest player data and compiled a list of the best players in best players in PES 2020 for you to check out below:

10. Harry Kane

Age: 26

Position: CF

Country: England

Club: Tottenham Hotspur

Rating: 90

When fit, Harry Kane is world-class and a 90 overall rating is no less than he deserves.

Last season, he led his team to the Champions League final and a 4th place finish in the English Premier League. Since he announced himself as one of the most lethal strikers in world football about 5 seasons ago, Harry Kane has been in great form, picking up the Premier League Golden Boot twice. Last season, injuries limited him to just 27 league starts, but he still managed to score 17 league goals and help Tottenham clinch the 4th and final Champions League spot on the league table.

Amongst his best stats in PES 2020 are 95 attacking, 91 kicking power and 97 finishing, which makes him one of the best finishers in the game. Still just 26 years old, many will be expecting Kane to live up to his 95 potential rating in PES 2020.

9. Antoine Griezmann

Age: 28

Position: CF

Country: France

Club: Barcelona

Rating: 90

Antoine Griezmann finally made a big-money move to Barcelona after another good season and has retained his 90 overall rating in PES 2020.

The Frenchman could only notch up 15 league goals in the 2018/2019 league season and while that may seem like a modest total for a player of his caliber, he can take solace in the fact that he scored those goals in a low scoring Atletico Madrid side.

With Griezmann now playing in a Barcelona team that is known for its fluid attacking style, he’s expected to improve his goal tally and maybe do enough to earn an upgrade next year. He has a potential of 94 and his key attributes include 88 finishing, 90 attacking and 92 kicking power.

8. Robert Lewandowski

Age: 31

Position: CF

Country: Poland

Club: Bayern Munich

Rating: 90

Lewandowski did not have a good summer leading up to the 2018/2019 season after a disappointing World Cup campaign with Poland. However, his performances at the World Cup didn’t seem to affect his confidence, as he managed to score 22 league goals and finish as leading scorer in the Bundesliga. He also helped Bayern Munich to another German league title.

Obviously, Lewandowski can and has done better than 22 league goals, but he was playing in an underperforming Bayern side and he was often the difference between a disappointing draw and a win.

His performances were good enough to keep his 90 rating with a well-deserved 92 finishing, 91 attacking and 87 Kicking power. His potential is 96, which is very impressive for a 31-year-old.

7. Virgil van Dijk

Age: 28

Position: CB

Country: Netherlands

Club: Liverpool

Rating: 91

Van Dijk is the new hero in Anfield as his performances from the back have steadied a Liverpool team that was notorious for its leaky defense. Able to stop attackers with his positioning, tackles and athleticism, not a single Premier League player dribbled past the Dutchman last season.

Apart from his defensive skills, Van Dijk passes the ball well and is able to contribute a few goals at the other end of the pitch with his excellent heading abilities. Voted as the PFA player of the year, 2018/2019 is a season the big defender won’t forget in a hurry.

In PES 2020, he is rated 91 overall, with a massive 96 potential and he is the only defender on this list. His in-game abilities include 92 heading, 92 ball winning, 95 defensive awareness and 95 physical contacts.

6. Eden Hazard

Age: 28

Position: LWF

Country: Belgium

Club: Real Madrid

Rating: 91

Hazard is one of the best players in the world and has been there or thereabouts for the most part of his career. Another stellar performance in the league and Europa Cup last season earned him a dream move to Real Madrid and it will be interesting to see how he performs for the Los Blancos this season.

With Cristiano Ronaldo no longer around, Hazard is expected to become the new star of the Spanish giants. The Belgian’s phenomenal season with Chelsea earned him a deserved upgrade, with his overall rating moving up to 91 and his potential rising to a whopping 96. Hazards key abilities include 85 finishing, 96 dribbling and 89 speed.

5. Luiz Suarez

Age: 32

Position: CF

Country: Uruguay

Club: Barcelona

Rating: 91

When he’s not biting opponents on the pitch, stopping goals with his hands or appealing for ridiculous decisions, Luiz Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world. In the 2015/2016 league season, the Uruguayan scored an incredible 40 league goals to win the European Golden Shoe and the Pichichi. Since that 40 goal feat, his numbers have dropped, but they are still good enough to get him rated amongst the best players in PES 2020.

In PES 2019 Suarez dropped from 92 to 90, however, he gets an upgrade to 91 in PES 2020, and while he may not reach his 96 potential before he retires, he is no doubt capable of producing another phenomenal season or two for Barcelona. Amongst his best attributes are 91 finishing, 89 attacking and 91 offensive awareness.

4. Sergio Aguero

Age: 31

Position: CF

Country: Argentina

Club: Manchester City

Rating: 91

There are many fans and pundits who are of the opinion that Aguero is the best striker to have played in the English Premier League. While that claim is debatable, Aguero has earned the right to be compared to the best of the best. He has a 91 rating in PES 2020 and an impressive 97 potential. His key attributes include 93 finishing, 91 attacking and 86 kicking power.

The diminutive Argentine is Manchester City’s all-time highest scorer and holds the record for the best goal per minute ratio since the Premier League began in 1991. What is more remarkable is that Aguero’s performances remain top class despite his injury problems. Injuries aside, he scored 21 league goals last season to help Man City to another league title.

3. Neymar

Age: 27

Position: LWF

Country: Brazil

Club: PSG

Rating: 92

Whether he’s playing for Brazil or PSG, Neymar’s talents are unquestionable. His vision, technique, dribbling and excellent finishing have endeared him to fans and critics alike. Unfortunately, injuries have been his worst enemy as another frustrating season ended with just 16 games played. Neymar still managed to chip in with 15 goals and 7 assists as PSG won another French league title last season.

With the summer dominated by rumours of a move back to Barcelona, it is clear that Neymar is no longer happy at PSG. To compound his misery, he has been downgraded to a 92 overall rating in PES 2020, although he still has an impressive 97 potential. Neymar is still one of the best players in the game and his attributes include 86 finishing, 96 dribbling and 89 speed.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo

Age: 34

Position: LWF

Country: Portugal

Club: Juventus

Rating: 94

Not many players can maintain their fitness and quality at the age of 34, but Cristiano Ronaldo is certainly aging with style. The Portuguese footballer spent last season winning the Italian Serie A and was named the league’s MVP in the process. While his 21 league goals were less glamorous than the numbers he produced at Real Madrid, his consistency for club and country at age 34 is a feat only Lionel Messi can match.

Modifying his playing style to adapt to his aging legs, it doesn’t look like his level will go down anytime soon. Ronaldo keeps his 94 rating and 97 potential in PES 2020 to stand with Messi as the game’s top two players. His amazing in-game attributes include 93 attacking, 91 finishing and 94 kicking power.

1. Lionel Messi

Age: 32

Position: RWF

Country: Argentina

Club: Barcelona

Rating: 94

Often rated as the best player to ever play the game, it is no shock that Lionel Messi tops our list of the best players in eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020. Now 32, many expected Lionel Messi to take his foot off the pedal, but after scoring 36 league goals last season, it doesn’t seem like that will be the case. With Messi, goals don’t tell the entire story and that is perhaps the big edge he has over Cristiano Ronaldo. His 13 assists in La Liga last season show exactly how much he can affect a game. Messi deservedly keeps his 94 rating in PES 2020, with his 98 potential making him slightly better than Ronaldo. His best attributes are 97 ball control, 95 offensive awareness and 95 finishing.

Conclusion

Perhaps the only disappointing thing about this list is that no goalkeeper made the cut. Otherwise, it is a perfect list featuring the world’s best players who would no doubt add an extra dimension to any gamers side in PES 2020. If you’re lucky enough to have one (or more) of these players in your team, then you can expect them to step up in the big games and win you points on their own.
